Bernal Heights (San Francisco)
Not yet rated by students

Class Description
This hill at the southern end of the Mission District was named for early resident Jose Bernal, and was the center of a large rancho following dissolution of the Mission Dolores lands in 1834. On this walk we will find a wonderfully-intact Victorian neighborhood with unsurpassed views in all directions, and discover a secret path that will take us up to a grand pedestrian boulevard, where we will be able to see all over The City. Your guide and host is geographer Gary Holloway. Walk is moderate, with some short uphill portions and steps. Parking is fairly easy.
