Spanish for Beginners

 Beginning Chinese Conversational

Starts January 23, 2016
Let’s speak Chinese!  This fun class will open the door to one of the world’s most ancient and intricate languages.  Learn basic conversational skills with emphasis on everyday activities and social settings.
is designed for beginners who are novices or have some experience in Chinese. The instructor, Lucy Sui, originally from Beijing, will have you experience the local color of Beijing, to include; scenic spots, traditional food and customs.

Conversational Japanese

Discover how easy and fun it is for beginners to learn the essentials of the Japanese language from Professor Machiko Conway, a native Japanese instructor. Learn basic greetings, vocabulary and pronunciation. Explore Japanese etiquette and understand
the traditional Japanese culture. Enjoy a delightful and   unforgettable  experience of the traditional Japanese tea ceremony presented at the end of the course.

French I

Are you planning to travel to a French-speaking country? Do you love French cuisine? You will heighten your travel and dining experiences, and French speakers will appreciate you when you care enough to speak their language. Learn how to greet people, ask for directions, understand a French menu, and speak simple sentences in social settings and many more everyday situations. Professor Marilyn Carter has taught French at Stanford University and other colleges.

Parlez-moi…de la vie, de la cuisine, de la civilization locale! Join Madame Carter if you already know some basic French. Build your vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation skills to effectively communicate with native speakers. This class may be repeated as each term has a different theme to enhance your language skills.

your goal is to communicate with others at work or at home, this class will enrich your life. Sandra Nalls has been integrating ASLinto her life for 25 years.

ASL-Beginning Conversation!

Enhance your conversation skills in this highly-interactive class designed by Instructor Sandra Nalls for you to practice your basic ASL skills in an encouraging environment. You will develop greater understanding of the language by using signing techniques to increase your ability to absorb visual language. Suggested prerequisite for this course is ASL — Beginning I.
