Featured Classes
California law requires that all food-handling facilities have at least one certified food safety person on site. Passing the exam administered at the end of this training meets the California requirements for certification and is recognized by the American Culinary Federation for continuing education units. New students taking the exam as well as students who need re-certifying are welcome.

Lighting can do wonders for your home! Explore the different types of lighting and lighting practices used by professional designers in "Lighten Up Your Home class." Learn how to layer light and use lighting in unexpected ways. Particular emphasis will be placed on the new era of lighting that is coming our way – LED lighting, wireless lighting, and new cutting edge lighting products. (3/18)

Enjoy the night skies with astrophysics professor, Darryl Stanford in "Astronomy - Fascinating Skies of the Spring class." Learn how to use a planisphere, to identify and locate these constellations on our rooftop observatory. You will also become familiar with the mythology behind such constellations as Leo the Lion and Gemini the Twins. (3/19)
Learn dozens of effective test-taking techniques to improve performance, confidence, and scores in "SAT Preparation Session I class." Practice exams, strategy guide, and supplementary materials are included. A pre-test will be given at the first meeting. (3/20) & "SAT Preparation Session II" (7/26)
Investing in real estate requires great management skills and knowledge of the best practices of the housing industry. "Smarter Property Management" teaches you the ins and outs of property management and gain more confidence managing your rental property or to become a property manager for hire. Learn all about tenant screening, property maintenance, landlords' and tenants' rights and obligations. (3/20)

Do you love animals? Have you often thought about how great it would be to walk dogs or care for companion animals? "Start a Pet Sitting Business" will teach you how to earn extra income doing what you love! Topics covered will include different types of pet sitting services, contracts, obtaining insurance and bonding, marketing, office essentials, networking and more. (3/6)

Do you want to make your own Sushi? "Let's Make Sushi" class will teach you how to create different types of sushi rolls and handrolls with various kinds of seafood. Learn about sushi ingredients, tools and knives. You will take home valuable instructions and recipes. Best of all, you get to enjoy sushi in class and take home some! (3/6 & 3/13)
