Intro to Gardening (all grades)
Do you like plants? Do you want to learn how to make them grow better? This hands-on class will take you from germinating seeds to harvest. We will look at mapping the sun, planting the right plant in the right place, soil analysis, what to look at when shopping for plants, planting techniques, watering, houseplants, composting, bugs, and disease.

Intro to Gardening instructor Patti Spezzaferro loves to garden! She was president of the Peninsula Rose Society (2019 - 2022), an American Rose Society Bronze Metal winner, and the Atherton Garden Guild president (2022-2025). She is also a consulting rosarian and a master gardener. She holds an associate degree in Horticulture from Foothill College and an Art History Degree from Mills College.
